GOLS-CERTIFIED ORGANIC LATEX

We use FSC® certified (C156318) Dunlop latex in our mattresses. Our GOLS-certified organic latex (CU 863637) is sourced from co-owned farmer's societies and processing facilities in India and Guatemala, operating under the USDA's National Organic Program. Our Dunlop latex is made with ≥95% certified organic latex, the highest standard. It is processed in GOLS-certified organic facilities. Our Standard Firm Mattress uses two layers of GOLS-certified organic Dunlop latex — 2 inches in the comfort layer (D65 / 14-19 ILD, soft) and a 1-inch layer (D65) in the base. On the Avocado Pillow-Top Mattress, we use three layers of Dunlop organic latex — 2 inches in the pillow-top layer (D65), plus 2 inches in the comfort layer (D65) and 1 inch (D65) in the base. On the Avocado Plush Box-Top Mattress, we use 3 inches of ultra-soft FSC® certified Talalay latex (not GOLS-certified) plus 3 inches of GOLS-certified organic Dunlop latex. No chemical adhesives are used to bind the layers since our mattress is needle-tufted by hand. Our Dunlop and Talalay latex is eco-INSTITUT® label certified (Dunlop 119-34212-001, Talalay 0120-34225-001), a certification for products fulfilling the strictest requirements on pollutants and emissions following the latest state-of-the-art international research and science, and OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 (24.HUS.86422).

GOTS-CERTIFIED ORGANIC WOOL

The benefits of wool’s complex and natural physio-chemical structure are endless: it wicks away moisture, keeps your mattress smelling fresh, and acts as another all-natural fire barrier. It’s breathable — both warm and cool when you need it. Its natural crimp gives it bounce, body, and soft support characteristics. It’s also non-allergenic (ideal for those who suffer allergies to feather and down or synthetic bedding products) and a renewable resource. No additives or synthetics are added to the wool. At Avocado, we add a layer of pure, naturally crimped GOTS-certified organic wool (CU 863637) (1 ounce per square foot) under the organic certified cotton ticking in every mattress. We do not blend rayon, polyester, or flame retarding chemicals with our wool. Our organically grown wool is independently certified to the Responsible Wool Standard by Textile Exchange. Vegan? GOTS-CERTIFIED ORGANIC COTTON

For a luxurious and premium finish, we use GOTS-certified organic cotton (CU 863637) in a soft, natural color. We craft the top panel with organic cotton, in a soft natural color, for a luxurious and premium finish, over a generous layer of organic wool with thin non-woven backing as a natural fire barrier, per Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) accessory requirements (required to keep the organic materials from shifting during production, and to ensure the natural fibers do not clump or "work" through the cotton layers over time). Responsibly and ethically sourced from India, this durable textile is needle-tufted by hand with organic cotton yarn rosettes, which secure the cotton ticking and internal mattress layers firmly in place without chemical or water-based adhesives. Reinforced edge seams are double-stitched, and four heavy-duty upholstered handles complete the package

Years 1 - 10: Full coverage, Non-Prorated. Years 11 - 25: Limited Coverage, Prorated. All foundations, bunkie boards, bed frames, and adjustable bases sold by Avocado have been specifically designed to meet the structural support requirements of this warranty if used correctly and unaltered. Foundations, bunkie boards, bed frames, and adjustable bases purchased from third-party vendors (not purchased from Avocado) must meet the minimum structural requirements outlined in our warranty.
